WPO European Zone Vice President Congratulates FWJI on World Press Freedom Day 2026

LONDON – The World Press Organization (WPO) through the Vice President of the European Zone of the World Press Organization (WPO), Dr. Rabit Sadiku, officially expressed his full support and congratulations to Forum Wartawan Jaya Indonesia (FWJI) on the successful commemoration of World Press Freedom Day 2026.

In his official remarks delivered virtually from the European Zone headquarters, Dr. Sadiku expressed his highest appreciation for the dedication shown by FWJI in upholding the dignity and honor of the journalism profession, both nationally and internationally. He emphasized that the role of press organizations is increasingly crucial, especially amidst the challenges of the global spread of disinformation.

Key Message: Ethical Courage

Dr. Rabit Sadiku emphasized that the deepest essence of the journalism profession is not merely delivering news, but is part of a noble humanitarian mission.

“Freedom for a journalist is the courage to convey the truth, packaged in ethical information that can bring peace to the world,” he emphasized.

He further added that in 2026, journalism must be able to become a bridge of peace between nations. Accurate information presented with ethical principles is seen as the most effective instrument for mitigating potential conflict and uniting various narratives for the sake of shared prosperity.

Meanwhile, FWJI Treasurer, Tri Wulansari, expressed her deepest gratitude and appreciation for the attention and support provided by WPI World and WPO.
